Kaiser Wilhelm II looks at the statue of Markgraf Johann (Hans) von Brandenburg-Küstrin on the Schlossfreiheit in front of the Schloss-Caserne in Cüstrin (Küstrin, today's Kostrzyn), on 24 October 1903. To his right is a man in civilian clothes with a hat in his hand (the creator of the statue, Fritz Schaper?). The bronze statue of the Markgraf stands on a high, square plinth in a flower bed and shows the Count standing, in contemporary clothing and with a beret on his head, a sabre under his coat. In the background, soldiers stand in line, with a military chapel among them.
